New ATT Members in Industry Discussion Group launched
On 17 September, the ATT will be holding the first in a series of regular online drop-in sessions for ATT members working in industry or in-house.
These sessions give members the chance to speak to their peers about the issues they are facing and share tips and advice. They also provide an opportunity to engage with members of the ATT technical team and raise relevant issues with them directly.
ATT is aware that tax practitioners who work in-house can face very different challenges to those who act as agents in practice. These sessions are intended to provide a space to share concerns and build peer networks. They are facilitated by members of the ATT’s Technical Steering Group and Technical Team but are not traditional webinars. Instead, they are intended to be member-led, serving as an open forum for attendees to share and discuss their practical concerns and support each other.
Discussion topics are driven by the attendees’ interests and could include, but are not limited to, issues such as:
- policy and technical changes;
- challenges of managing internal stakeholders, including working with non-tax stakeholders across the business;
- tax technology, data and systems challenges;
- tax governance, controls and risk management;
- implementing new reporting and compliance requirements; and
- horizon scanning for emerging issues and policy developments.
The sessions are open to all ATT members who work in-house. They are free to attend and will be hosted via Zoom. For more information and to sign up, see here.
