New CIOT Technical Officer: Ruth Sadlier

Ruth started her tax career in 2009 as a graduate trainee with S&W’s private client team in Bristol. She gained valuable experience in personal and partnership tax and investigations while studying for her ATT and CTA exams, qualifying in 2011 and 2012 respectively.

In 2015, Ruth joined a small Cardiff practice helping a broad range of clients with their personal, corporate and employment tax compliance and planning. The opportunity to lead the team’s IHT, trust and estate tax service led to her completing the STEP diploma, including an award for highest marks in one paper.

Most recently, Ruth joined Saffery in 2020 to refocus on private client tax, specialising in trusts, landed estates and individuals with international connections.

Ruth is looking forward to supporting her volunteer private client committees and engaging with HMRC and policymakers to work for a better, more efficient tax system.
