Tax Technology in Practice: a webinar series for a changing profession
‘Tax technology is evolving rapidly – and keeping pace means learning not just what’s new, but what actually works in practice.’
Following the success of the 2025 Tax Technology Conference, the CIOT and ATT are launching a new webinar series designed to keep the conversation going and, importantly, take it a step further, providing opportunities for learning throughout the year.
The Tax Technology Webinar Series builds on strong feedback from delegates who wanted more than high-level discussion. There is clear demand across the tax community – from students and early-career professionals to experienced practitioners and in-house teams – for practical, accessible insight into how technology is being used in real-world tax settings, alongside the chance to explore emerging developments with subject matter experts.
The series opened in July with a webinar on the ethical use of artificial intelligence in tax, grounded in the principles of Professional Conduct in Relation to Taxation (PCRT). While that session has now taken place, it set the tone for what this series aims to deliver: practical guidance, real examples and thoughtful discussion on the challenges and opportunities presented by new technologies.
Looking ahead, further webinars in the series will continue to explore key areas of tax technology, with a focus on real-world application. Topics are expected to span the broader tax technology landscape, from how tools integrate across the tax lifecycle, to practical applications of AI, governance considerations and the evolving digital approach of tax authorities. Whether you are working in practice, industry or academia, or just beginning to explore the role of technology in tax, you can expect sessions that are grounded in experience rather than theory, offering actionable insight rather than sales-led content, with speakers sharing practical lessons from their own experience of implementing and using these technologies.
Each webinar will be delivered online, with opportunities for live interaction, including Q&A and discussion. Recordings and supporting materials will also be made available, helping to ensure that the content remains accessible beyond the live sessions.
As tax continues to evolve in an increasingly digital environment, staying informed is essential. This series offers an opportunity to do just that: learn, engage and better understand what tax technology means in practice.
Further details of upcoming Tax Technology in Practice webinars will be shared in due course. In the meantime, keep an eye on the CIOT and ATT events pages and our communications for the latest updates.
