Jonathan Athow is Director General for Strategy and Policy at HMRC and has overall responsibility for a group of teams that use customer insight to design better tax strategy, assurance, policies, products and process. He rejoined HMRC in 2021, having previously  worked as the Director General for Economic Statistics at the ONS.
